Just a reminder to families that Orange Center has new hours under the "Stay-At-Home" executive order that was issued.  Friday, March 27, through Friday, May 1, the school office will not be open for walk-in visitors. Limited staff are present and telephone calls will be managed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. School offices will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. by appointment only. Call or email the school for appointments.  If you are calling about academic students packets, Grab-and-Go sites are also giving out student academic packets in their car loops.

Florida schools will be closed until May 1.  The Florida Department of Education has recommended the closure of all schools in Florida and a continuation of distance learning through May.

Teachers should have been in contact with you sometime during the week to discuss the grade level's distance learning platform.  Please contact your child's teacher if you have any questions.

Food distribution continues at area schools.  Grab-and-Go meals are available for pick up between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, in the car loop of each school site.  District staff will delivery meals directly to those in their vehicles.  Children (except for ESE students) will need to be present to receive the meals.  Orange Center has staff members working at Washington Shores Elementary School during the food distribution.  Also, for parents that still need packets, you can get academic student packets at the Grab-and-Go locations while you are picking up food.  For students that have been displaced during this time, please let your child's teacher know.

LYNX is offering free bus service to all children and their parents through April 15. Children must be accompanied by their parent to receive free fare. Children and/or parents should inform the driver that they are going to the school for breakfast and/or lunch and they will not be charged bus fare.
