Principal's Message

Tiger families,

We had a great week at Orange Center! Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Progress Reports

  • Teachers will submit grades next week.
  • Progress Reports will come home Thursday, September 18, 2025 (9/18).
  • Please check Skyward regularly to review your child’s grades. Many students completed their Unit 1 Reading and Math assessments last week.

Home–School Communication
Open, respectful communication with your child’s teacher is key to supporting academic growth. If you have questions about grades, assessments, or progress, please reach out to your teacher early.

Field Trips & Chaperones

  • Many classes have field trips coming up.
  • To chaperone, you must be approved through ADDitions (district volunteer program). Please complete approval in advance.
  • Student attire: All students must wear a black spirit shirt on field trips. Shirts are available in the front office for $10.

Thank you for all you do to help our Tigers shine!

Accelerated Reader (AR) Program

Our school will be promoting the Accelerated Reader (AR) program this year. Accelerated Reader (AR) is a computer-based reading program used in many schools to help teachers manage and monitor students’ independent reading practice. With AR students will:

  • Read books of their choice (within their reading level)
  • Take short quizzes on the computer after finishing each book
  • Earn points based on how well they do on the quiz and the difficulty of the book

Once students take their Star Reading tests teachers will be sending home information that provides students’ reading levels. Parents can encourage and assist their students with getting their AR points by ensuring they are reading nightly at home. If they do not have a library book at home, Sora is a great app they can use to find books on their level. Sora is located on their Launchpad and you can search for books based on their level.
