Dress Code
The dress code for Orange Center Elementary is based on enhancing the learning process and personal safety of our students. The guidelines for determining what is appropriate or not is based on one simple belief: A well-dressed student is more likely to behave better and improve academically.
The uniform for Monday through Thursday is the following:
Fridays are spirit days and students are allowed to wear a College T-Shirt and jeans.
Please label all coats, jackets, school bags, etc. Lost and found items will be collected in the clinic.
General Guidelines
Clothing must cover all undergarments.
Belts are required in pants that have belt loops.
Pants must be worn at the waist.
Shoes must have closed heels or straps on the heels.
All shirts and blouses must be worn at all times.
Sweaters, jackets and/or sweatshirts must be worn as designed (any color).
Shorts, skorts, jumpers, and skirts may be worn.
Clothing items NOT allowed include:
Clothing that is too tight, see-through, revealing which outlines undergarments or body parts, including spandex, exercise pants and biker shorts.

Clothing that is cut off/ragged or with holes/tears must have sewn hem.

Shirts/blouses revealing the midriff or plunging neckline; tank tops, halter tops, and spaghetti straps, backless/strapless clothing.

Pants worn below the waist or with rolled up leg.

Pajama tops or pants; or boxer shorts worn as outer clothing.

Flip-flops, backless shoes/sandals, house slippers, and certain style of boots.

Hats, caps, visors, sunglasses, or camouflage clothing. Clubs are excluded.

Clothing promoting smoking, alcohol, drugs, profanity, sexual connotations, provocative language/suggestions/gestures, violence or racial slurs.

Clothing, jewelry or accessories with pointed, spike or potentially dangerous objects.

Bandanas or other gang-related material/style of dress.

Any clothing, hairstyles, unnatural hair color, or ornamentation deemed inappropriate by that administration.
Students who fail to meet these dress code guidelines will be administered the appropriate consequences as described in the Orange County Public Schools Code of Student Conduct.
